Meet our Staff

Dr. Emily Walker

Dr. Walker was born in Liberal, Kansas. Her family relocated to Angel Fire, NM when she was seven years old. She attended Santa Fe High School prior to completing veterinary school at Oklahoma State University in 1999. She spent the next four years practicing in a small animal clinic in Yukon, OK before coming back to New Mexico to be near family.

Dr. Walker discovered her love of cats in the early years of veterinary school. She became the president of the student chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and completed her preceptorship at a feline-exclusive practice. She is a current member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association. For the next year, she is serving as President of the Albuquerque Veterinary Association. During her years in practice in Oklahoma she gained invaluable experience in the treatment of feline patients, and further cemented her desire to dedicate herself completely to the care of cats.

Dr. Walker has been married to Matt Walker, a graphic designer, for nine years. She has a six-year-old daughter, Josie. If a love of chasing the family cats is any indication, Josie just may follow in her mom’s footsteps!

Dr. Walker has two cats of her own. Cheerio, a large brown classic tabby and white male, has been with her for three years and was a gift from a very dear client. Lucky, so named because you have to be darn lucky to have a vet in the car behind you when you get hit by a truck, is a black female kitty who joined the family shortly after Cheerio. Pictures of both can be seen in the Photo Gallery.

Dr. Walker is very excited to be starting this new phase of her life in a new clinic, which she hopes to develop into a haven for cat lovers and their feline companions. She looks forward to forming bonds with both clients and patients, for it is these relationships that make her profession so rewarding.

Donna Lewis Clinic Coordinator

Donna has worked in the veterinary community here in Albuquerque for the past 16 years as a Hospital Manager of a multi-doctor practice. She brings to our hospital the experience of running a large clinic, and will be helping us to maintain our high level of efficiency, care and quality medicine while helping us grow and move towards the future. She has an 8-year old son, Johnathon, and two cats, Chloe and Spooky who keep them both entertained and busy. As a true cat lover, Donna is very excited to be a part of the Albuquerque Cat Clinic team, and getting to know you and your fur person as we move forward together.

Debra Neubauer, RVT

Debra is a registered veterinary technician with 14 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute in Denver, Colorado and has worked for several clinics in the Albuquerque area. Her job is to insure that your friend is as comfortable as possible, whether here for a dental cleaning, surgery or just not feeling well. You will also see her in the exam room, helping you make the best decisions possible when it comes to your cat’s health. On her off time, Debra enjoys wildlife rehabilitation, whitewater boating, hiking and skiing. She looks forward to being part of our family here at Albuquerque Cat Clinic, and learning all about you and your feline friends.

Office Visits and Drop-Offs

Office Visits

To provide for the most efficient use of your time and ours, office visits are by appointment. You may schedule an appointment with us either by e-mail or by calling 323-1460. We will make every effort to see you in a timely manner. Please schedule by telephone and inform the receptionist if you believe it is urgent that your cat be seen immediately.

Drop-Off Service

We want to accommodate your busy schedule in any way possible. If you are unable to stay for a scheduled appointment, you are welcome to drop off your cat to be examined at any time during business hours. We only ask that you give yourself time to fill out a history form when you drop your cat off, and that you leave a number where you can be reached should we have questions or need to consult with you on a treatment plan. Cats left overnight will incur boarding and/or hospitalization charges.

Emergencies

In the event that your cat requires immediate treatment outside of our normal business hours, please contact Albuquerque Animal Emergency Clinic at 884-3433 on the east side or Albuquerque Westside Animal Emergency Clinic at 898-8874 on the west side.
